Great braai idea: Savoury T-Bones

 

Give me a T! Give me a T-Bone steak.

Here is a steak braai recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 beef T-bone steaks ( 2.5 cm thick and 350g each)

Directions

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first 11 ingredients; add steaks. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
  • Drain and discard marinade.
  • Braai it your way but here is tips for chef
  • Grill steaks, covered, over medium heat for 6-10 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°). 
  • Yield: 6 servings.
