Sosatie and Steak? Yes, please

It’s always ‘n good time to braai, but with the summer sun burning – We have to braai even more.

Here’s a fantastic sosatie recipe for you.


1 cup of chopped Onion
1/2 cup Vegetable oil
1/2 cup Lemon juice
1/4 cup Soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Mustard
1 medium sized Sirloin steak, cut into cubes
1 large Green pepper, cut in pieces
2 medium Onions, cut in quarters
2 medium Tomatoes, cut in quarters

Heat the oil and chopped onion in a saucepan. Take it off the hotplate and stir in the lemon juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and mustard.  Pour it over your meat and vegetable mixture and then allow it to cool and place it in the fridge to marinade overnight.

The next day when you are ready for the braai, skewer the meat, green pepper, onion and tomatoes and keep the marinade.

Braai the sosaties for five minutes on each side, while brushing them frequently with the marinade.

As a variation, and if you like hot food, why not try adding crushed chilies to the marinade.
